Pennsylvania Dutch Beef Pot Pie



INGREDIENTS - Egg Noodles:


3 egg yolks 2 cups flour

1 full egg 1 teaspoon salt

2 tablespoons water


Directions: Place flour inside a large mixing bowl. Mix the egg with the egg yolks, two tablespoons of water, and salt. upon mixing, pour into the center of the four and fold in. Your dough will be "shaggy." Continue adding small amounts of water until the dough becomes the right consistency. Knead the dough into a ball, then let it sit for ten minutes. After ten minutes, roll out the dough, then cut into squares, approximately 2 inch x 2 inch. Allow the noodles to dry on a plate while you prepare the body of the meal.




INGREDIENTS- Beef Pot Pie


2 pounds stew beef 128 ounces of beef stock

2 sweet onions, chopped 32 ounces of vegetable broth

2 pounds sweet corn

2 pounds sweet peas

2 pounds carrots


Directions: Combine vegetables, broth, and stock cover and boil while the beef is cooked separately. Once cooked as desired, add meat to the pot. Once the pot is close to completion, you will add your homemade noodles. These do not take long to cook. You will know when they are done because their texture will resemble waterlogged skin. To thicken you may choose to add some corn stalk.
